Eastern PA Caravan to Bimmerfest 2012

Everyone,
Those of you interested in driving to Bimmerfest from Lancaster, PA should reply to me. Last year we met at the Walmart Parking lot on Rt - 30 and had an excellent drive to the event, right in the back door, no waiting, no traffic, no hastle. Let's do it again this year. We'll get the exact info out soon, but for right now I wanted to get an email out to plan on attending this event.

Hi,
The event is still happening. We will meet in the Wal-mart parking lot at the junction of Route 30 East and Route 462. Plan on arriving between 6:00 and 6:30 am. We'll try and leave about 7:00 am. Bring your camera, a 2 way radio if you have one, a GPS, cash to enter the event, a folding chair or two, and sunscreen. We'll take a similiar route to last year arriving about 8:15 to 08:30 am. For you first-timers a 2 way radio is really helpful to let me know (I'm the lead driver) if you get stuck at a stop sign or a traffic light.

I'm in. Last year was a blast driving down...until the cooling system on my E36 M3 failed just before we got there. A mix between bad motor mounts and some spirited driving on the way down caused my engine fan to get hung up in the front of the car. Luckily the couple with the E92 M3 were very generous and gave me a ride back to PA. Looking forward to a different outcome this year!

Are we leaving earlier this year? Will they let us in 1-1/2 before the gates open?

If you are interested in driving with us then post a reply. We will leave @ 7:00 am and get there sometime about 08:30 (about an hour before last year). Everyone thought that was enough time to get situated, and see everything. If there are only four or five of us we can leave earlier. - Tom

You're welcome. GoPro is the way to go for sure! Not bad for an iPhone though. The Garmin GPS suction cup bracket actually fits perfectly over the Otterbox belt clip for the iPhone. My poor mans GoPro for now!
