looking at 09 750 Li- what do I need to know?
Is there a buyers guide sticky somewhere that gives me a heads-up on issues with this year and model?
Thanks! |

Doesn't have many issues, at least not those that aren't covered by CPO or the likes. Buying these cars without a warranty is, well, not the smartest move.
Do you know the production month/year, and how many miles does it have?

What's a CPO? And who sells warranty that isn't a ripoff? I am looking at an 09 that might have 1 year left (30K mi). I like to turn wrenches on my cars, but don't want an avalanche of issues to give me headaches. I've got a 00 S class and an 07 Cayman S and have been on their forums alot. I find it odd that the 07-12 Sclass is rated so high in initial quality by JD Power, and the 09-12 bmws seem to be rated average, yet I see a ton of issues being dealt with on the Sclass forum and very little here.

CPO is "Certified Pre-Owned" and comes with BMW's manufacturer's warranty, but not their service warranty.

Not many issues with the F01/02. I owned an `11 750ix MSport for about 18 months and absolutely loved everything about the car. If you're thinking about an `09, keep in mind that that was the first year for this series. If it were me, I would make sure to purchase an extended service warranty.

The first year of f01 production is actually 2008. They are built since 07/2008. So if his is actually built in 2009 then it's allright. There are many 2009's in Germany and especially in the States that were actually produced in 2008.

I bought mine CPO so it will be covered till 07/15 or 100K miles. I don't plan on keeping the car that long nor drive many miles, so it's good for me.
One thing to notice is that CPO is not transferrable, so let's say I sell you my CPO 7 today, the CPO warranty is voided. Aftermarket warranty varies in price and service, I sell warranty that's similar to the factory one, and most of times it's cheaper than factory extended warranty. However, makes sure you can swallow the price, I ran a quote for my own car at the time of purchase, and it was over 5300.00 for 5 yr/100K!!!
