Bogging
My e36 just started bogging a couple days ago it's not to bad it's a minor bog. I was wondering if my leaking slipping autotragic trans would have anything to do with the bogging?

Bogging? As in lugging down the engine like it's under heavy load? That won't be the auto tranny. Those slip and the motor races when they start dying.

On acceleration the car bogs and when I step on the pedal it hesitates and bogs and feel like a loss of power .

That's an engine problem, not transmission. The engine would rev up without increasing the car speed if it were the transmission.
Does it idle OK? Sounds like the MAF needs cleaning. By the way, if your transmission is leaking, FIX it, or you WILL be having trouble with it soon.

The idle is ok just on acceleration it bogs n after the car warms up it doesn't do it only some times. I already have problems with the trans I keep adding trans fluid every couple months or so.

When's the last time you changed plugs? And what kind are in it now?

I changed the plugs about a year ago now. And the are double platinum bosh

Bingo. Get some plain NGK copper plugs. Our BMW engines don't like those Platinum plugs at all.

Thanks for the info.. I got one more question .. I have to get my car smoged by the end of this month n I was wondering if it would pass smog even tho my trans is slipping? I added trans fluid and it is not slipping as much as it was before but idk if I should spend money for a smog if it's not gonna pass due to the trans. I was saving up for a auto/ manual swap bur i got laid off last month and that money is gone FML!! Thanks in advance for the info

Whens the last time you changed the transmission fluid? filter inside it might be clogging up if it has been a good while. as for the bogging, is the cel light not coming on? surely if it was the plugs the cel would pop up showing misfire
