DIY shop in Connecticut?

Hey everybody,

A couple recent close encounters with a friendly local skunk (who luckily didn't spray me), the rain, and a few very nice cops who very politely asked me to please stop banging on things at night because the neighbors complain appear to suggest that I should find a new place to do my car repairs.

Does anybody know of any DIY shop in CT, preferably near the Hartford Area? So far I can only find people renting garages on Craigslist, and nothing seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Being a weekend mechanic is helping me learn a lot about cars, and I could really use the extra money. Thanks in advance for any input you could share!

Not sure where your nearest military base is (Groton? Westover AFB) but these often have garages that rent out space. Hanscom AFB, near here, has a facility with lift & tools for about $7/hr. You'll need to check if you have to be military or a vet to qualify for use.

Dunno anyone in CT but if you don't find anything, you can try these links for a lookup:

- Labor rates by zip code (1) (2) (3) & where to find a good mechanic (1) (2) & joining BMWCCA (1) (2) & finding a reputable BMW indy in your area (1) (2) & the most often recommended parts suppliers (1)
