Looking at some new Mockups of the interior of the F15

I was kind of distracted, procrastination at its height, and searched BMW F15, and this popped up. Its the interior mockup of the current spyshots circulating the web, with the active tourer concept superimposed.

I have mixed emotions, about the flat plains of the dashboard, with the floating Idrive screen. These are based on mockups, but I am still getting some weird vibes of the car. I get the simplistic approach the designers are taking with less wood trim, more plastic, but besides the screen it seems vacant. I like it, as an evolution of the X5 line, but still seem to like it takes away from the traditional feel of BMWs.

So it's going to have a "fake popup" screen like the new 6 and F30. Otherwise, looks pretty good. Essentially, F10/F30 interior mixture.

I like the new style interiors across the entire range, this is no exception. The fake popup screen actually works for me, it gives that "weight loss" impression. The new speedometer dials are gorgeous.

I find new interiors kinda "Audi'ish"... and Audi does it better. It's almost like you get into new 3, 5, whatever, say, "yeah, ok" and that's it.

A while ago I drove a loaner 328i with the fake pop up screen... I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it. It does look good but I also wish it were a real pop up screen that doesn't just sit there collecting dust (literally) when not in use.

Hard to believe that BMW would go to such an angular design -- it looks like they are picking up the Cadillac angular styling ten years late....

I went to look at the op and Im beginning to dislike the three tone dash ROFL. But the idrive design is gorgeous, but it seems disconnected with the three tone dash lol
