thinking (again) of trading my 7 for a 6grancoupe

looking forward to a good deal....otherwise ill stick with my 7.

Good luck with that! At the time I got my Pana I was also thinking about the GC; however, I was interested in the 650i version. I'm very happy with the Porsche, but still regard the GC as a unique and beautiful vehicle.

I'm looking to do the same but my dealer said all the incoming gran coupes are pre-sold and told me I'm better off sticking with my 7 until early next year when the new navigation gets fitted in the gran coupe.

i always wanted a Panamera, but the Porsche dealer wouldnt budge btw, is the panamera, wider, longer than a 6GC?
navigation is non issue for me since factory nav is disabled where i live

Factory Nav is disabled in ALL cars? I have to ask why???

in the Philippines, luxury brands...Audi, Bmw, Benz, Lexus, Maserati etc... all do not have Navigation (maybe there are no maps?) however mass brands.....Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc.... have Navigation as standard in their top variants

If the Toyota’s have Navigation then the Lexus should also, as they are the same. That does not make much sense.

Yeah, PLEASE explain to us living in the USA or Europe...why LUXURY brands do NOT have naviagtion systems in the Philiipines, but entry level brands do. This just needs an explanation...since all other markets have basically standard navigation now in luxury models. Thank!!

I have yet to see the GC "in the flesh" so to speak. However, I can tell you that the Pana is considerably lower than the 7 and, at least to me, definitely feels like it is lower than any car I've owned...and that includes three 6 Series cars. Based on how it fits in my garage, I would say that the Pana is probably about the same length as the 6 and perhaps a tad wider.

I've only seen one GC and it was in the opposite lane, but it looked a little smaller than the Pan to me - at least in road presence. I'm not sure I would have even noticed it had they not gotten the full LED option (that's the only way I noticed a '13 7 series as well, on the same block!). I like the big round look of the panamera.

I wonder if it is a matter of volume. Meaning the cost and effort to enable and test it is not justified by the sales volume.

as much as i would want to trade for a panamera or a 6GC now, its not that easy here as the market for used luxury cars is very low unless you trade/sell at a give away price and lose tens of thousands of dollars.....those who cant afford a new 7 would most likely buy a new 5 than a preowned 7. thats the problem

i have offered to trade for a Panamera GTS, CLS63, 640GC, and M5....but the sales agents frankly told me to just sell it privately since their trade-in valuation is too low to even mention to me. There is just no market for a used luxury model.

Someone in my building just got a 6GC in that flat gold color with a white interior. That flat gold paint is pretty cool looking, but I think it would look better with a black interior.

THE 640 GC comes out in x drive in the spring, wait.

i only have summer and rainy season here, no need for Xdrive

nextweek ill know if bmw will be able to fix my 7 or not, from there, ill be negotiating for another 7 or a 6GC.

Hi Bruno, how are you? I was excited about the new 6 until I sat in it--zero leg room for the back passengers, and a much more confined driving area. Further, the rear passengers have little headroom and no leg room. I am 6'3'', so the car made no sense at all for me. If you are below 5'10'', it may work. And even then, you better have very small passengers, if any.

Maybe next year they'll have the digital display on the 7 to give me some incentive to make a move. Otherwise, it's not worth it, yet.

Hi BMR2009, i havent seen the GC in person. So is it tighter inside than a Panamera?

Im taking re-delivery of my 7 today after 2 months in the shop. Fingers crossed everything is sorted and plans for a GC is gone for now. With Bmw Philippines' poor after sales service, i might be going back to Mercedes this 2013 when the new S-Class comes out

My 7 might be my last Bmw (not bcoz its bad) but bcoz Bmw Philippines has a very poor service department.

Sounds like the CLS. I think all of those 4 door coupes really take a hit when it comes to head room. On long rides that lack of head room can really make you feel claustrophobic

Not many will admit it, but the engineers that design thess cars are light years ahead of the mechanics that have to fix them, and that's not just BMW either unfortunately.

However, I can tell you when things start going south on your car, more often than not, it's time to cut it loose. My last 7 was great until a seat sensor went out, which created a replacement program of just about every component in my car--it was a nightmare. And yes, I got rid of it as soon as it came back from the shop, after six weeks total. It was a "Franken-bimmer".

The 6 is absolutely a smaller car, much smaller than my 7. That said, you need to sit in the car. I could never drive that car--way small for me. I do like it though.

Once you go big, you can never go back.

On another note, BMW just released NAV maps for Turkey this year. So no BMW has nav and most f10 don't even have the CIC. I had to have the nav retrofitted. Merc and Audi still don't offer maps here.
