Iphone 5 w/Office feature - does this pair?

Does the new iphone 5 pair so we can still use the office function? Currently, I am using the bb bold that pairs great so that I can use the office feature to see my emails/text on the nav screen. Before I switch...I wanted to check and see if anyone on the forum has any feedback.

Yes to SMS. Calendar through BMW connected app. Email is flakey and involves fiddling with the number of messages it pushes to idrive each time you pair ... But it does work.

Contacts has always worked and supports addresses. Does not support images though.

Thanks. I still can not get office to work w/ iphone 5. Did you need a special connector cable? I never had an issue w/ the BB Bold.

Just reaching out to the tech savvy BMW community on this thread also. I have a '13 X1, with iDrive and Nav, and just successfully performed the software update. My iPhone works fine with the system mostly - whether plugged in with standard Apple USB cable or via Bluetooth - though I seem to be reading about people saying they get messages and emails to be read aloud by the system, and thats where I get stumped. when I go to select "Messages" on the iDrive, it displays "No Messages". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bummer,mi want to say I have seen somewhere that some iPhone 5 users have this working? Oh well. If anybody can help it would be appreciated. Anybody I using a blackberry and have it working, of course if you do that I would think you loose access to the BMW apps?

Text messaging works perfectly but I cant get email to work either. Seems to be a common issue.

I had this working but switched phones over the weekend and couldn't receive emails or texts. It took a while but I figures it out. Go into settings, then Bluetooth, then go into the entry for your BMW. Make sure the "Show Notifications" switch is toggled to "on". I hope this helps.

Per the post from apw2607 above, to get email working on iPhone, you need to change the number of notifications on your iPhone EVERY time you use the vehicle. On iPhone, go to setting, notifications, mail, and show. Change the number of message shown from what is already selected i.e. if "10 Unread Items" is selected, change to "5 Unread Items", and vice versa. Unfortunately, you have to do this every time the phone is paired with the vehicle (ie. every time you get into the car with the phone)

This works for me on both a 2011 328xi and a 2012 X5, ALWAYS.

Hope this helps!
