Z4 Roadster (E85) 2006 Manual Z4 Warning Lights

Hey All - I know my post is SIMILAR to many other 'cos I was a good boy and looked through all previous posts before asking a dumb&% question, but it;s not exeactly the same as any other post I can find so please can you help out there??

If I drive for any reasonable distance - say 10 miles. Stop my Z4 and get out briefly, say to nip into a shop, and come back after only a few minutes and start up the engine again, I can guarantee the following 3 dash warning lights come on yellow and stay on. If engine is off for longer, say 30 minutes, then no warning lights. It's always the same 3, run flat tyre warning, traction control warning, and handbrake (parking brake) light.

Feels like it is temperature related but not certain. Can anyone suggest help please?

Could be the battery; when the battery starts failing, you get all sorts of warning lights none of which relate to the battery.

Thanks GeorgeT. It's going in for service next week so I'll certainly ask them to take a look at the battery for me.

Seems you have a battery issue as stated above. Same lights as I had....soon you start experiencing 'symptoms' related to those lgihts. Basically your battery is showing low voltage and those related lights and systems will think you have an issue.

A new fresh battery should help.

Thanks Bucko - do you or anyone else think this may also explain why the roof won't go all the way down. It stops 3/4 of the way open but if you persist with the button or apply some pressure to the roof it will eventually go all the way open but doesn't lock in place and so bounces about a bit when you go over bumps. If all my issues could be fixed by a battery change I'd re-dicover my love for my Z4 in an instant!!
