Cup holders won't come out

I searched, I even watched the Youtube vids. Looks easy. 2 screws. But for some reason mine would not come out for the life of me. It's like mine had something sticking up from the center of it when I looked into it with a flashlight.

Edit: there is a tongue or something sticking up. Guess the new units don't have that part. Use a credit card to help push them down and push the whole cup holder assy down in the center. comes out. Replacing with factory style junk, that works and buying a teac

You are correct. There will be resistance felt in the middle. Typically its the long plastic strip along the upper edge of the cup holder. If you get a flashlight and look in you'll see what I'm talking about. We typically tug gently on the broken cup holder (since you'll be replacing it anyways) and retrieve the upper half that I am speaking of.

Good Luck!

Don't sweat it, you're on the right track. Insert a credit card under the cup holder element (at the base), once all the screws are out. It will slide out very easy. Don't force it out - it won't happen.

haha, this brings back memories of me going absolutely crazy, ripping the broken one out to realize I almost broke the replacement trying to jam it in over broken plastic!

A wide putty knife (or in a pinch, a credit card) inserted in the slot above the cup holder will help the tabs on the top to slip past the back edge of the panel above.
