Did you hear the "diiing" yet?

Well, here it's official.... Driving to work, I heard the "ding", followed by the : 3C warning in the dash......Winter is coming.....
Oh, I hate this sooo much. Did you have the warning yet, or is it still balmy in your neck of woods?

Still +25...+28C here (at least today), in Maryland.... Anyway, I code that 'ding' out, so, I'd not hear it....

I haven't driven yet today, but, we have snow in the backyard and all over the mountains surounding the valley here in Missoula. So, I suspect that if I was outside my car would be diinging. It beats the smoke, but, I'm glad it didn't snow heavily because the trees are still leafed out and heavy snow would have been a nasty mess of broken branches and closed streets.

How many of you knew what that diiiing was for the first time you heard it?

I didn't. So naturally I was like, "Oh sh*t, what's wrong, wha'd I do?"

I actually read the owners manual when I purchased the car, and knew right away.

I've come to hate winter also, it takes so much more effort to do anything and driving is right up near the top of the list. I used to ski 30 plus days a year and that helped. But, my knee fell apart, started by a motorcycle accident decades ago, and I need a replacement. So, the last while I haven't been able to ski.

The first time I heard the Ding I'd just topped McDonald Pass over the Continental Divide the temp dropped and I heard the noise. My first thought was, crap, what now?

I hate the winter too, it's the time of the year when all the snowbirds return to Florida. I have never heard the low temp ding.

No diinnnggg here yet, was 44*F here this morning. Had a high of 80 on monday. Even though you made this thread, we can all count on a "whats that dinging sound" thread in the near future.

EDIT: I have been enjoying my heated seats on my early morning commute though

Still in the upper 70F here in Atlanta. I don't think I would hear the "ding" as often as I used to in Seattle.
