Close to pulling the trigger
Hey guys, I'm very close to signing on the dotted line for a 2008 Graphite coupe with red interior. The car has 45k miles on it. Is there anything I need to look for/worry about, as far as any problems with these cars? I'm a Corvette guy and this will be my first BMW. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure what transmission you are getting, but I know there was a DCT lag issue on the 08. There was a software fix for this I believe so if it has DCT make sure it has the latest software flash.

So pretty much you are going for a car out of warranty. Get ready for unexpected visit to BMW service center.
Or take the extended warranty plan if it is available.

OP - Idle control valve failure is a common problem, worth a google search. Can't spring for an 09? 09 had considerable improvement to idrive system. |

Not so sure about that per thread on alternative BMW site soliciting high mileage M3 drivers experiences. Few reported serious problems - just normal maintenance which can get expensive. I hope they are right since I am also thinking about swimming in the same deep water.
