New Member - Question
Greetings all,
New member located in Northern New Jersey USA. Owner of a 2004 Z4 3.0I Alpine white/beige top/interior. Excellent, educational forum. In the process of replacing shift gear, and handbrake boots with new leather versions, as well as the actual "gear shift ". The boots are easy to replace, however not sure how to remove the "automatic gear shift ". Appreciate feedback on how-to for new install. Thanks and good day Last edited by z4nuggen; 10-07-2012 at 04:45 AM. Reason: more specific |

I have a manual Z4, but on my auto X3, I just pulled in the front button and use my knees to push up on my arms while going strait up and off it came (Slow steady preasure). To install reverse :-) Hope this works for the Z4.

Thanks Mikey. Happy to be on board.
Steve, I got around to it today and just as you pointed out - shifter came out easily just by pulling up using both hands and a little pressure. Just have to be careful not to hit yourself in the process. Thanks a bunch. |
