The right stuff
Back a couple of weeks ago I tried to make a fix on an oil leak on my car. Seems that the gasket on my oil level sensor was giving up the ghost. I had just cahnged oil a few weeks before and with 240k miles on the car I thought I would try something else instead of the gasket to make the fix. I purchased a product called The Right Stuff, it's used with a calking gun and it's in a tube like calking. Jacked the car up and applied the product around the sensor gasket and let it set up overnight. It's been 2 weeks nw and it's dry as the Sahara
under there still--this right stuff is the stuff. Worked fer me |

Right stuff = good stuff.
Pretty expensive gasket sealer but it is good.

used it to seal up some water leaks on a seadoo...and seadoo's do face some water...Never considered it for an engine before...but, hey if it works...it works!

This product is the only one that has ever worked for me the way it has on this format. To stop and seal an oil leak by just covering the outside of the part and then setting up and holding is pretty dang good. Wish I had known about this stuff when I was working on my 427 Ford intake manifolds--they are bears to get on right with no oil leaks afterwards--390's are even worse--the intakes way up to 90 lbs and have to be set just right when laying them down on the engine block

In my previous Discovery I, I used it to replace all hub seals in each corner, the engine oil pan seal and valve cover gasket. I mean I use the right stuff to "replace" the original seal, not apply a coat of it on the seal/gasket. You can pretty much make good gasket out of it.
