Coolant leak: lower hose needs change.
The other day I got the message of low coolant. This morning when I went to wash my car same message appeared again. I knew something was wrong. Upon inspection I noticed the leak coming from the plastic piece on the low side of the radiator. Called BMW and that part is one piece of the lower hose. How easy is this piece to replace? Any help/tips much appreciated.

Just either by the washer that goes on the temperature sensor or buy a new temp sensor with the washer. I think that is leaking instead of the hose.

Seems like other models are having the same problem. Here's a thread from 6 series forums with a cheap fix from Home Depot O-Ring $3.

They do sell the part. Part number is 13621743299. It costs $0.71 from thebmwpsrtstore.com. The sensor is part number 13621433077 and costs $19.08 from the same place.

My stealership only carried the sensor and not the O-Ring.

Glad you got it fixed. Still better than replacing the hose.

You can buy the rubber seal at Home Depot. $2 for a pack of 10. There's a thread with details in the 6 series forum. They have the same issue with exact same part.
