A dreaded moment...
So, I'm driving from ATL to Raleigh early saturday morning, about 5am. I'm doing 75 in the left lane and move to pass the person in front of me via the right-hand lane. I move over and in a split second run over something (non-animal). The sound was something we all never want to hear from our cars...
![]() Bottom line, I completely broke the felt box under the front (middle) of the car as well as some plastic-looking air dam that seems to channel air upwards from the ground. Thankfully the bumper if fine, just some white marks on the underside. You can't tell I hit anything without looking under the car. I have not taken it in yet to have it looked at, but was curious if anyone new: 1. What dealer charges to replace those two pieces, from anyone who has had the pleasure of this experience. 2. If number one is ridiculous high, is it something that's pretty easy to do myself? I know the car will need to be jacked up to get under it. Other than that, I don't see it being too hard, but who knows. P.S. I don't have pictures yet, but will post some this evening. |
