Car Vacuum Cleaner

I'm currently using a 26 year old Genie Wet n' Dry vacuum for cleaning out the car & general around the garage/shop cleanup.
While recently visiting my parent's winter digs in Florida, I used an old house vacuum (an old Electrolux) that had been replaced & relegated to the shop.
My parent's vacuum cleaner was 1,000% better at picking up the debris out of the carpet of my car, so I'm thinking of replacing the old Genie vacuum in the garage.
Any thoughts as to vacuums for the garage? Not necessarily a Wet n' Dry type, but I'm open to ideas. I don't want to use the house vacuum for this kind of work.

Check out the Ridgid line. They have a great hose connecting system so you can drag them around by the hose without a problem. Great warranty. Many sizes. Lots of hose/accessory options.
I have one with a removeable air blower on top so the wife can use it to blow leaves in the fall. I'd buy my Ridgid again in a heartbeat.

Check out Metropolitan ... Several models to choose from, and they really suck (like a vacuum should)!

What (if anything) have you bugeted for?

I have a 6 HP Shop Vac and have never felt at a lose for lift.

I have the Metro Vac and it's great. Small but VERY powerful. Very easy to vacuum out the car quickly every couple of weeks or so since it so easy to get out/use/put away.
