A123 Files for Bankruptcy

Edit: Nevermind. I just read that SB LiMotive (Samsung/Bosch) is building the battery packs for the i3.

A123 Systems has (had?) a contract with BMW for lithium-ion batteries. Not sure where they are using them.

News reports say that A123 will be selling their battery plants to Johnson Controls.

Quote:
"It cost more to make them than they could sell them to their customers for," says Andrea James, an industry analyst with Dougherty & Co. "Every single battery pack was sold at a gross loss. The more they sold the more they lost."

Latest info, I gather:

So glad I got AONE stock at its $17 initial price! People could make a fortune doing exactly the opposite of what I do in stocks, damn it.
