M3 swap into a non vanos
I have a 92 non vanos car an just picked up a 99 m3 drivetrain minus ecu an harness can anyone give me some help on how to make this swap work. Thanks!

You will need an ECU and harness for your drivetrain.

I've heard that I can use an obd1 vanos harness and ecu has anybody done this?

Yep tons of people. Google S52 OBD1 conversion. You will need a vanos harness and probably a red label dme.

Use your M50's intake manifold, along with the rest of the intake system (except injectors). Use the exhaust from the S52. You can use either valve cover, but you'll need to make an adapter for the crankcase vent if you use the S52 one. Also, you'll need an S52 chip for your red label DME. You can get one from the big companies, such as Turner, or you can talk to an independent tuner.

and like these guys already said, a harness would be necessary. be preppared for a bit of work. df
