Engine rebuild, needing head help
Hey guys I need help figuring some stuff out. I have an 81 320i with the 1.8 in it. I seized the engine due to a faulty oil pressure sender. Anyway I bought another engine a 1.8 out of what I was told was a 84 318. I started stripping the 318 engine and found out that it has grand piano style pistons. Now I just bought the block and head together but the intake manifold wasn't on it. So Idk what kind of injection it used. Mine has the L-jet injections system and I'm wondering if that intake manifold will work on the 318 head? I was also thinking about swapping heads but will the be a clearance issues with piano style pistons??? I have t taken my engine out yet so I don't know what kind of pistons it's using. Any thoughts or ideas? Just trying to get my baby running again. Thanks for the help guys!

As your existing is damaged take off the head and look. Compare and then decide which to use. If you mix and match make sure the combustion chambers are the same volume. A good head shop should know how to check this.
