And what "cornering lights" are you referring to? Our cars don't have "cornering lights" like the newer cars do. Are you getting any bulb out warnings on the dash (car symbol with light symbols to the front)?
If you are referring to the front corner lights next to the low beam (parking lights that also act as turn signals)... if you are not getting any bulb out warnings, those lights can be programmed by the dealer to be "off" when the headlights are on... the previous owner may have done this. Do your turn signals work? Last edited by E46_Ci; 11-05-2012 at 07:54 AM. |

Hi Guys
THanks for responding and i apologize for taking so long to respond. There are two head lights. Outer does both low and high beam but iner light never comes on. I read online some people were saying they were cornering lights. They have fully functional lights in them so i replaced them. I didnt think BMW would waste money on working bulbs unless they were suppose to work. Am i wrong on this. Tried everything i found online, backing up, turning wheel, blinkers on nothing works. I am not getting anybulb warnings just thought they should be working and blinkers work fine. Also dont know if it has angel eyes but the inner light has a thick ring around it that i thought could be angel eyes. Here are some pics quality not good just got in and dark out will put up better ones as soon as i can. Thanks for your help Last edited by uvbnhd; 11-14-2012 at 09:12 PM. |

the inner light comes on when you flash your brights. when you keep them in the on position, then the outside lights become brighter. other than that they dont do anything. if you havent noticed though in the upper corner of each of the inner lights youll find a small hole. this is for the european cars, porbably a different protocol for lighting in the EU or something
oh, and, from the looks of it, you dont have halos. Halos are LED rings that go around each individual headlight. like this. Not my picture, not my car. thanks google Last edited by bmw330ci04; 11-14-2012 at 09:04 PM. |

When behind a good black SUV that was very reflective i have tried the the high beams and they still dont come on. If they dont do any thing thats fine it just seems like a waste. i just thought since they spent the money on bulbs they would do something. Thanks for your help.

They also function as the Daytime Running Lights, if your car is programmed to have them activated. The dealer does this programming. They light at a reduced intensity as DRLs. Those are the ONLY two things those lights do. Your cars does not have coronas/angel eyes lights.

Thats what i thought but looking at the wireing diagram there was only one fuse that was only for the front lights and i swaped that with another one and it did not work. All the other fuses were for head lights and some other light. Since no other lights are not working i assumed these were good.

Hey Thanks for your help in clarifying this. After talking last night i started thinking and i had done the highbeam test prior to replacing the lights. Of course it was the only one i had not tried since replacing the bulbs. Tried it on the way into work this morning and you are correct i could see them come on. Thanks
One last note are there any DIY on programing them to have them come on in the day time. |
