Low Km Oil Change
Was at my dealership last weekend to have my winter wheel/tire package installed on my 2013 X3 M-Sport - 19" wheels with Pirelli P Sottozero. I enquired about an oil change and was told that by the one year anniversary of delivery if I have only driven 12,000 Km or less I would qualify for a Low Km oil change as part of BMW's free scheduled maintenance. The maintenance advisor said this was not a widely known fact. If I was over 12,000 Km. by the one year mark I would have to wait until 24,000 Km. had elapsed.
Comments?? Don't know if there is a similar policy for those of you in the U.S. |

The same policy exists in the US except here we don't know what a Kilometer is.

oil changes are every 12 months, or the 24,000km marker, whichever comes first.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this 12K low mileage oil change Norm50. My car is booked to investigate a couple of issues and it'll have slightly under 12K when it rolls into the BMW shop.

Yes, that is correct. I had my first oil change done when my car hit one year old. 6,500 miles on the odometer. Didn't cost me anything.
