A few things
Hope some one can help answer a few questions,
My wife has a 2003 X5 3.0i E53, Push fan not working, this summer i noticed the car started to overheat so i checked the radiator level and it was a little low, added som coolent and thought i was good until i hit traffic, it was over 100F outside and bumper to bumper agian started to overheat, pulled over, opened the hood and noticed the push fan was not working. Once cooled down started driving again then the stop, check oil pressure sign came on. I was told to change the oil pressure switch first before anything else. I did that but once i changed the oil, filter and pressure switch i noticed oil leaking in the stiffner plate, i traced it to the cylinder head area in the front. Does anyone have any helpfull advice on what i can do ? Thanks |

Change your head gasket. Very tough job, but seeing that its been overheating then its
a must. Hopefully you didn't let it overheat too much and warp the head. It's aluminum you don't want to let it overheat continuously. I would ground that vehicle and get that head off to make sure it's not warped.
