2013 Nav Pro Not Working Correctly

So I have the new Nav Pro, and for at least 5 times now (I've only had the car a week), it has taken me to a location that is 1/2 to 2 miles off on the same road or to somewhere that is even further off. However, for some locations, it's spot on. It's so bad that I don't trust it anymore and have started to use Google or Apple Maps.

I think that I'll need to take it in today to have it looked at, but anyone else seeing this?

I don't recommend using Apple maps, it might be worse. :-) Are you still in Alaska or have you moved?

Are using an address or a POI (point of interest)
Is location off (so the address is correct but the place is not there?)
Is the map off and say you are somewhere you are not?

Can be different issues so more detail is needed.

I no longer live in AK, I moved down to Washington and picked up the 550 there. The error happens when I put in an exact address. Google and Apple Maps are dead on, but my car puts my in a different location much of the time. The map is correct about where I am physically, but the address seems to be off from what I can tell.

Last question, does this happen in the burbs or in the city?

The nav is probably accurate given the database it has to work with. Don't know how to make the data better, though. I have a 3 week old 550 and so far the nav is mostly accurate. Even Garmin has some gaps, I always bring backup in the way of common sense and a paper map in case it's needed.

I took into BMW today. When we put in the address of BMW where we were sitting, it said that the address was about a half mile down the same road. At first they weren't sure what the issue was, but found the problem on an internal BMW forum. This apparently was a known issue w/ the nav sys and they were able to provide a fix w/ in 45min or so. I have yet to test it out, but they said that they did, and it is not good to go.

I have seen this before in phones and other GPS units. It's usually is a software problem in interpreting GPS sat signals. It can also happen as part of ghosting when a particular satellite signal is received as reflection and throws off the coordinates. Sometimes happens in urban canyons, which is a canyon caused tall buildings blocking signals.

Push them for a fix as it ill throw off everything.

Well, I spoke too soon. My car is still having the same issues. I went back to BMW today, and they initially claimed user error, so I pulled up some addresses in front of them, and it plotted them in the incorrect locations. Then, we did the same on a 2012 nav sys, and the plotting was correct. So, they put in the address on a MY 2013 7 series, and it too had the same issue mine does. So it appears to be a map issue. It's definitely not tied to the GPS as the address is plotted to the wrong location to begin with.

Kinda sucks to spend this kinda money on something that any $50 nav system off the shelf can get right. Nav Pro = broke.

You are saying it plots it in the wrong place? Can you post a pic?

It will show the checkered flag 1/4 to 1/2 down the same street w/ the white line taking you all the way there.

Car is 3 weeks old and nav pro has been wrong 3 of 6 times. All have been in city and following entering of address on two occasions and once of point of interest. Always seems to be about 1-2 miles off. It steles me I have reached my destination before I get there. Haven't gone to dealer yet, but my 2008 Audi navpro was flawless.
