Grill for 540 2002
Can I overpaint to black my original grill? It's silver.
What kind of spray should I use Or shall I buy new one? Thank you |

I used rust-oleum on mine and they have no chips or cracks it was the matte black, I did all the plastic trim around the car as well, and it made a huge difference

As with all paint, PREP IS KEY. Paint doesnt stick to smooth or shiney surfaces, so rough it up with some light sandpaper, add a coat of primer and then a top coat. Many thin coats is better then one thick one. and adiquite dry time is very important. If you want to be able to peel it off later and have them stock again I say plasti dip is your friend.

ya, prep is key, Nine6 has it right, and home depot is where i got mine, look at my photo of the wagon I have the black trip is repainted and the grills
