My GPS Navigation stopped flipping up and also stopped showing the screen, Its not necessarily a vital organ for my 2006 BMW x3, but its a pretty important one considering it also hosts the radio and everything else. I'm not sure if its just a wire being undone in the back or if its the actual motor in the Navigation system. We checked the fuses which are fine. Is there a way to remove the GPS System so I can check the wiring to it? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Check your fuses. I had a similar problem and I believe it was fuse 42 but there are 3 or 4 other fuses tied to the radio and screen.

Ok, i'll check fuse 42, none of them seem to have been burnt out, but It doesn't hurt to double check.

If the fuses appear to be ok you then need to check the connector to the unit to verify it too has power. Then you'll have a better idea if it's the unit or somewhere back towards the fuse block.
