F12 / F13 (2012 - Current)
The future is now! The all new 6 series coupe (F12) and convertible (F13) details are out and dealers are taking orders. Still no word on when the 4 door Gran Coupe will go into production. |

Tpms
Hey guys. I just put on my winter tires with a set of 5 series rims I picked up. No TPMS on the rims.
I'm getting an error warning in my car and I went to the dealer to clear the error code and they said there's nothing I can do because the TPMS is missing. This was a service manager not a technician. Does that make sense? My wife's a6 didn't have TPMS on her winter set and it doesn't have a error. Thanks.

Makes sense since the TPMS is required for safety reasons.

I just put a different wheel on my car (no TPMS sensor) to get my original one touched up. I too got a TPMS error. Funny thing is that I didn't get the error for an hour after driving that way.
Can you just get the TPMS sensors and put them on the new wheels? |

Get TPMS sensors from any online vendore (TireRack or such) - much safer. You can probably get the set for ~200-250 total. BMW re-learns the sensors, you do not need a service reset (anyone at Infinity reading this?). Too bad you did not get the wheels / rims with TPMS already installed
