starter?
for the last six months or so, I would turn my key and nothing would happen. When I turned it the next time it would crank with no problem. Tonight, I turned and all I heard were clicks. The lights and radio are working fine. The alternator was replaced about 4 months ago. Will hitting the starter make it crank?

Perhaps it's a fuel issue? (ie: fuel pump)

If the start will not turn it CANNOT be fuel.
OP- what is the condition of your battery????????????????? you have an "x5" in your profile, but no model, no year... would be helpful A
