My guess is March-April 2013 for the gas versions and late 2013 for the diesel.

EOP for petrol versions of the E70 is scheduled for July 2013, while for diesel vehicles it is set for November 2013. Expect somewhat of a delay between EOP and SOP of the F15 X5 for re-tooling.

Does anybody have the timing when the current version replaced the 2006 model? I am guessing that the timing might be the similar. My lease is up in mid-Feb and I have asked my sales guy about extending to wait for the 2014. I will pass on any information I get but I am not hopeful it will be any earlier than August of next year.

Thanks. I called BMWFS and you are right I can extend up to 6 months with an order or a deposit down. Instead of waiting 8 months, I am leaning towards leasing a 2013 for 2 years and then move to a 2015 F15. I looked at a GL450 but really like the performance feel of the X5 over the interior comfort of the Mercedes. Maybe this feeling will change in 2 years...

That's probably a very wise choice as you really don't want to get the first production year of a new model, even if it's just for a lease.
