All BMWs newbie need help please

Hi I need someone to point me in the right direction, I have to cars which I am wanting to be able to code as well as diagnose. 05 745li and 04 530i. Can someone please tell me what i will need and where to find it please thanks

I do not do any Exx Chassis stuff, so I can't tell you where to go to find things, but for coding you need INPA, NCS Expert (coding applications), SP-Daten (coding data files) and a USB OBD K+DCAN Cable Interface.

For Diagnosis, you need ISTA/D with ICOM A-B-C Interface, same as Fxx Chassis, although there may be some things you can do in INPA and Tool32 with the USB OBD K+DCAN Cable Interface.

For flashing modules, you will need WinKFP or ISTA/P, the latter of which is also used for Fxx Chassis.

Reprogram the entire car? You need ISTA/P and ICOM. If this is a one-time deal though, you are much better just taking it to a local Independent Shop, and paying them a few hundred to do it.
