Extended Warranty Bought
Guys, finally got the extended warranty and got a great deal, got it from Carhex..the platinum plan, 4 years 50k miles and paid 3,900$
That's a good deal I think...they cover pretty close to everything including navigation. Let me know your thoughts and opinions I'll also give the name of the guy who signed me up and answer questions. |

Will not cover coolant pipe. Also will only cover up to the low blue book at time of repair. I have had the same carcheck policy that you got and canceled it after 3 months, they were very fair and returned 80% of what I had paid into them.
Also, carcheck is just a retail outlet that sells for the underwriter, nothing is paid by them at time of repair. I just could not see spending 50% of what blue book is on these cars at the time of purchase. I have had to shell out money on repairs on my car but everything I have replaced would have not been covered anyway. My 2 cents

Yeah, I feel the same way, but you never know.. OP could go the next 50k with no problems and waste the whole thing.. statistically that is what will happen, but with these cars there is a very good chance you will get your money worth out of that slip.

I got a warranty through them as well, they sold an Alpha warranty to me, 2 years ago I paid $4200 5year 100k full bumper to bumper. but you still need to be careful, I just used mine for the first time. They covered a New ASK (make sure you get the extra radio and Navi protection, if not it only covers upto $300 for radio or navi and you know very well its a lot more then that) they replaced both control arms, pressure switch, and the steering angle sensor. Out of pocket cost $0 .. I also bought the $0 deductible option. The peace of mind alone makes it worth it.

How much extra was the radio an nav protection, also, how much was the 0 deductible protection?

I wanna say for both the radio option and the 0 deductible was maybe 500. Then there was a wear an tear option I got to which basically covered any of the covered parts that was not faulty but on it way to possibly being faulty that was another 200 maybe Either way the total, after reviewing came out to $4400 not $4200. Still a really good deal. Still have 3 year or 32k which ever comes first.

Two other questions: what was the "wait period" on your contract if you don't mind sharing that information? Did they ask you to do an initial inspection or diagnosis? Thanks in advance! |

This is the most recent variation of marketing occurring on the internet. An initial poster with low post numbers touts a product (Warranty in this case) and is often compensated based on how many people he gets routed through that pathway (notice he asked prospective 'clients" to make CERTAIN they reference him). It's not to get any specific discount but rather is so that the seller's know where the lead comes from. The one thing I found a bit "odd" was the name of the warranty company, carHEX (Who the heck?), not CarCheck (which is a known entity). In some "extreme" cases, there is no business AT ALL but rather it can be a scam. If you DO end up buying anything from ANYONE via an online reference like this, ensure that you pay with a credit card so that you have some recourse. NEVER, EVER pay one of these via Western Union. I can guarantee that a company is a scam if the ONLY accept WU. You HAVE to ask yourself... "Why would someone create a thread title that is almost an advertisement in and of itself?" Is he simply trying to boast or is he actually trying to sell something? You can usually tell in a few post if it's just testosterone because they seldom ask for references and don't apply (artificial) pressures like "must buy today or must buy quickly to get the Black Friday discount..."
The thread naturally pulls in more "respected" forum users with many post who may mis-read the original (name in this case) and could (unintentionally) appear to "stand up" for the original posters cause/company. PS - I don't know the OP from Adam but one of my professional roles is identifying things like this on forums like these for businesses. As with anything, you HAVE to due your due diligence.
