Wondering how many people on here are from the Twin Cities area. Looking for some new knowledge on e46's, good places to buy parts around town and such. The winter is here so not much to do but in sure there is a way to cope with it. Pm me or hit me with a reply. Thanks in advance

In the twin cities as well. 07 550i and a '12 X5.

I'm in the Twin Cities as well and am proud new owner of X3. From what I've read, it seems like getting a car wash is complicated with the Idrive. Does anyone have a good recommendations of carwashes in the Twin Cities? I'm not really understanding why you need to switch off the ignition during the wash.

I've used Mermaid before but the manual for the X3 has given me some reservations about the car washes with the tracks.

Appreciate any insights.

Paradise in Bloomington and Cloud Nine in Eden Prairie are the only places that have washed the 550i and the X5 and both have taken pretty good care of them. No issues with the shifter.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm closer to downtown but may check out Paradise in Bloomington if you've had good luck.

Twin Citean here. I usually wash my car at a touch free SA. Paradise in Bloomington is good too, as others have mentioned.

How about oil changes? Any advice for a reputable mechanic or shop that can do this other than Motorwerks? For bigger jobs, like brakes or suspension issues, I've gone to this little place in Richfield. Wondering if there's a good place for a quick oil change though.

Cool thanks. Bavaria Motors is the name of the place that I was thinking of. I think it's technically Minneapolis, on 61st near Lyndale. But I can't figure out if they're still there or not. I called the number but the voice greeting wasn't very audible. I will try them tomorrow, but I'll check out that place in GV too.

That is also a great place I haven't been there in a few years so couldn't tell u if they r still there I have brought my Audi s4 and my bimmer to imola great friendly service I do know the owner very well there and they hand wash ur car after they finish servicing it

Seth Thoresen at JB Eurotech in New Brighton is a good guy, and so are all the Orr guys at Orr Autosport in Eden Prairie.

There's a newer Euro shop just up the road from BMW of Minnetonka called Euro Sport of Wayzata. Anyone know anything about these guys?

I'll second Orr Autosport in Eden Prairie. They've been taking care of my 01 330xi for around 8 years now. In recent visits I've noticed their sign now lists BMW, Audi and Mini.

I live very close to ORR Autosports in Eden Prairie. Might give them a try next time around the 550i needs something. The X5d always gets taken to BMW Minnetonka since it is under warranty and all maintenance is included.

Have an appointment on Wednesday at Imola for an oil change and transmission update on the 550i. First time there. We will see how it goes!
