false oil level readings.
I recently purchased a 2007 525XI. Had everything checked out before purchase. I noticed after around 800 miles my oil light came on. I checked it through the system and it said add a quart. I waited until the end of the day and it said oil level full. I am getting different readings day to day. Any suggestions? Thanks..

Oil level sensor (attached on the bottom of oil pan) may be the culprit for those erroneous readings.
Replacing the oil level sensor is not that difficult; do it when you are ready to do oil change. If you are in Nashua, I am not too far from you... Westford |

Thanks very much. That's pretty much what I thought it would be.
