One More Thing....
Is that above and beyond (or over and above??) what you can negotiate for the car? For example, if the MSRP is $64095 and you can get a Truecar price of $61372, do the credits bring down the cap cost? Thanks.

Yes you can.
Also, You should be able to negotiate a sell price on a X5 35d below invoice. They do not sell well. Those incentives are correct. These are cap cost reductions: Holiday $1500 Ultimate Drive $500 Loyalty $750 (currently I am leasing through BMWFS) This is a sale price reduction: Eco $4500

The diesels sell very well in the Houston market. A few months ago they were running the incentives below except for holiday cash plus they were including a full sales tax credit. They were being picked off of dealer lots as soon as they showed up. I negotiated hard to get $500 over invoice for mine.

Are these big discounts due to upcoming body style change???

I would say more end of year discounts, they were similar last year end. Even at that, most folks have been able to get a consistent ~$10k off of MSRP when including all the various discount programs at any point in the year.
My personal opinion is that North America has been a test bed for their new emissions systems on the diesel and they want to get as high a number of test subjects out there being shaken down as possible before the switch gets flipped over in Europe, big incentives help do that. Just my opinion though. Jay
