bmw spending more

hello to everybody
I'm new here and I hope that someone will answer to a problem that I have with my bmw E60 2003/04.
What happened. After I finished the brake discs changing I went to my mechanic to he can delete board message about brake pads.
After he deleted that ( I have active steering fault message which have almost every bmw 04/06 I saw), in next couple days I noticed that my car consumes approximately 50% more fuel than before he conected car on computer.
Before it was around 7l/100km and now is more than 11. Thing is that my friend with his e46 did the same thing and now has the same problem.
Is anyone now what is this and how I can fix it.
Thank you

If you have a set of jack stands, lift the car and check to see if the wheels rotate freely or do you have a caliper sticking..... If you don't have jack stands, drive the car for a bit and try to use the brakes as little as possible. Once you do come to a stop, get out and feel around the rotors. Be careful. My guess is you'll find 1 or more that is way hotter than the rest of them.

I suspect you have a caliper sticking. Probably in the rear as you would notice one dragging in the front as it would pull to one side or the other.

If you were really getting 7L/100km that's truly exceptional fuel economy. What engine? Do you just drive highway?

The 11L/100km is likely just the new consumption figure made since reset where the 7L figure is an old, long average.

My 535 gets about 11.5L/100 around town and around 9.5 highway.

TRS550 thank you I will try that.
About my consumption, before it was between 7 and 8l at most in city and on highway it was 5,5l.
I was suprised in the begining when I bought the car because this is my first bmw but after 2 years it never changed so I got used it
First I thought that computer sends wrong info so I filled tank full and drove 100km strictly in the city and when I filled it again it was 11,3 exactly how computer were showing.

What engine? It is bmw5 e60 automatic 160kw 216hpw

One more time thank you
