Mid way through a rear wheel bearing

I started my rear passenger side rear wheel bearing job yesterday. Today, after a trip to Harbor Freight, I was finally able to get the hub out. The wheel bearing came apart, as expected. I was able to get the outer race of the wheel bearing out of the control arm (knuckle?), and am at the point where I have to get the upper race off of the hub. I plan on putting a slot in it and hitting it with a hammer + wedge to crack it off.

Anyways, I wanted to ask if there is anything I should do to the bearing or surfaces to encourage ease of dis-assembly in the future. I figure I want to be able to change it out much easier in the future if this one goes bad, I am using pretty imprecise tools/methods. I was planning on picking up anti-seize, but I have never done a wheel bearing before so I wanted to double check.

Personally I put some anti-seize on mine to prevent the races from being too stubborn next time I do this.

clean the holy hell out of it.. smooth the mating surfaces..
steel wool/emery cloth

try to polish that bastard.
use molylube/antisieze liberally on surfaces...
