Fuse 6 88 528E

I have an '88 528 E that keeps blowing fuse 6. Dome lights, tach, glove box light, after market radio. Could it be after market radio? If so what is the best thing to do? many thanks!

check that the wire for the dimmer switch is taped up, in my 528e i left it alone and untaped and it shorted out on the back of the radio and would blow the exact same fuse and since i taped it up it hasnt been a problem!

I'd suspect the SI board. Go to Mye28.com and research it there. Lots of info on replacing the NiCad battery that usually leaks and causes these problems.
