where is the power steering res. on a 2000 740i BMW. I am 60 miles from nearest dealer and it is hard to steer.

When you open the hood it on the front right side attached to the wheel well. It is a small black, jug looking thing. It says dot 3 transmission fluid on it. MAKE SURE YOU USE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID.

....or its the small black canister with the "star" shaped lid that is sitting just below the red rectangle that identifies the location of the negative jump start hex bolt in the pic below (just like First740 mentioned):
