There's a ton of stuff to do. It's been done multiple times. I can't do all the legwork for you, but if you search around, I'm sure you'll find it. The big differences lie in suspension and engine. There are some minor other parts, but one problem with the compact is the rear suspension is very different than the other types (4 door, coupe, convertible) so most people do what they can from other models (like the Z3 or the E30 M3).

You're looking at a lot of work and money, but it will be an awesome car when you're done.

To do the conversion, you will need a donor car. Preferably one that was wrecked from the side, but front or rear will be fine as well, provided the engine is in good condition and the driveshaft is still straight. You will also need to get the electrical components for ECU and so forth.

It is much better and "cheaper" if you had a wrecked donor car.
