Welcome to Bimmerfest. I moved your post over to the E39 forum, which is the chassis code for your BMW. Take a look around this forum for speedo issues or one of our members will reply with some ideas on what might be the issue.

The LR ABS wheel speed sensor provides the input signal to the speedo. Could be a failed sensor or a bad ABS Control unit. Could also be the speedo head which would be a very different problem-not the usual fault.
If you go to the Wiki section of this forum (top tool bar at the far right) and go to the ABS Control Unit section, you will find Bluebee's "place to start" thread which will help with your diagnosis. |
