replacement of rear right tail light

Hey has anyone replaced the full tail light of a 2004 x3? The lamp housing has burnt out so instead of just getting the part I decided to replace the full tail light because its been cracked for some time so now.seems like a good time to replace everything.

I replaced the bulb -- once I figured out how to remove the interior pieces it didn't seem like too much work to get the whole housing out -- but I didn't have to so I am just guessing. The bulb was easy.
