Glove box flashlight
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knew if the socket for the flashlight in the glove box of a '96 e36 328i has the same output as the one in the e46. The reason I ask is I ordered a black flashlight for it not knowing that it only fit the e46 (ebay lacking information or just me being computer illiterate) and I was thinking of just modifying the flashlight so it would fit. I don't want a white flashlight as my car is black on black on black and I think the black one looks to be of better quality. Thanks in advance. |

Nope, did the same thing you did but unfourtubately i never got it to work.
I always grab spares when i see em in the junk yard. They are kind of useless anyways (not much light output)

With a quick google search you'll find threads where people change them to LED's.

I just got rid of the flashlight and used the power going to it to power an extra 12v outlet mounted in the back of my glovebox. I used the flash light plug opening to mount a USB port hooked up to my stereo. 16gb of music right there and I can hide stuff in the glovebox and still charge.

Oh shoot, that's too bad. I am surprised that they would change the output for something like that because you would think they would have a standard flashlight for all of their models. I guess I will just have to try something else like the LED upgrade or the power converter. Thanks for the quick info everyone.
