Does my '06 Z4 have bluetooth?
Hi folks,
New owner, new poster, but firstly thank you all for keeping such a great forum going, and helping me (albeit, passively!) during my search and purchase of my 2006 2.0 ISE E85 N46 21. ![]() My steering wheel has Radio/Phone controls for what i assume is bluetooth, but having trawled the manuals and mashed every button on the radio, I see no way of connecting a phone. There's no cables or ports in any of the cubbies, and so I'm left wondering - do I have a nice steering wheel with lots of useless buttons?! Any help, greatly appreciated... Cheers m |

Congrats on your car and welcome to the group!
I don't know about your non-M, but for an M Bluetooth was part of the BMW Assist that came with the Premium Package. Premium Package also included Cruise Control and 8-way power seats with driver side memory.

I had an 06 Z4 3.0 non-M. If I remember correctly, once I set my cell phone to "discovery mode", I think but I cannot remember completely, but I think once my Z presented a code number in the radio display... I think that I then entered that number into the field that automatically appeared on my cell phone.

Try this. Maybe this was how I paired my phone. It was 7 years ago and gave up the Z4 in 2008... Yes, I am sorry that I gave it up.

This might also help. There should be a tag on the Bluetooth device, according to the below post that should have the pairing code on it.

This would be true for US-spec Z4s, but note that the original poster is from Ireland. There will be different option groupings and I seriously doubt if BMW Assist was offered anywhere but North America.
