Seatbelt

my 335i has the thingy that pushes the seatbelt out to you once the car is started, although sometimes the seatbelt doesn't catch on the extension and sometimes it does, on the passenger side it catches everytime i have examined the seatbelts and seems to be no issue but i can't figure out why sometimes the extension catches the seatbelt and other times it doesn't, has anyone else had that problem?

Probably many people have this issue. My drivers side seat belt catches every time, but the passenger side almost never. I have an appointment at Global Imports for an oil change next Tuesday, and since my car is still under factory warranty, I'm gonna have them fix it ( hopefully ).

since im still under bmw warranty, do you think this would be something they would/should fix?

I think they all die after a while, another BMW bad design idea. Both of mine are dead so I just pulled the fuse since the car is off warrantee

I had my driver's side fixed under warranty. Less than $60 in parts if I recall correctly. I always like to see how much a repair might cost me once the warranty is expired. I looked up the part numbers online to get a price. I hated reaching back for the belt. Take it in!

Knock on Titan silver my seat belt extenders still work at 75 k. Passenger side I had to pull out broken pieces of plastic that was preventing hook from extending out . Brute force and some luck and jiggling brought it back but it's a pretty weak (good idea though ) system.

And yes if under warranty they will fix or replace it although it may take a visit or two. I did that while it was under warranty.

Try to iron your belts, bet it will be ok then.
