radio fuse

what fuse(s) do I need for the radio in my 2002 X5.. not working ?

If you mean the fuse that is located in the electrical harness on the radio itself...it is a 10 amp fuse. For example, I'm referring to the reddish fuse in the pic below on the back side of an in-dash CD43 CD/radio unit...the same applies to the CD53/C43/BM53 units.

If you are referring to a fuse elsewhere...then look for the fuse index in both the front & rear locations which will have the fuses listed alphabetically along with its fuse nbr...also with a fuse box illustration that shows the fuse nbrs place within the fuse box as well as its amperage.

If you open the glove box and look in and up you will see a cover, on the back of the cove should be a lable identifying which fuse is for where and what amperage.

Since the OP (original poster) only has "Essex" as their location...I'm not sure what part of the world that's in...but kind of sound like it may be the UK. If so, that may mean RHD (right hand drive)...and I haven't been around the e53 world long enough to read/learn how the front fuses are accessed since the steering wheel is in the way. My only perspective as of now, is from the LHD e53s and the page from our owners manual (that is posted in my previous reply).
