733
1have 1984 bmw 733i with 5 seed gear box.ichanged the anti-freeze and was bleeding the cooling sytem. It is apparent that air was still in the system it over heated and blew thead gasket.I removed the head and took it to the machine shop and the machinist is going to pressure check the head and he told me he might have to plane the head and iwill have to replace the head gasket based on how much he shaves off the head.Ihave researched the head gasket and observed that the gasket comes in three thickness.
0.025-0.30mm has1 hole mark whic is standard. 0.031-035mm has 2 holes 0.036-0.042mm has 3 holes along the edgeto indicate thickness classification. Ihave been searching the Internet trying to find who manufacture this type of head gasket to no avail.please advise who manufacture this type. i checked Victor Reinz the showed this for American auto butno excess thickness fobmw. Thanks I await your reply. |
