2007 BMW 750i 128k miles
Hey guys I am thinking of buying a 2007 BMW 750I. only problem is it has 128k miles! Am I crazy to consider it? It is a one owner and only driven by a one owner executive. Black 750i Sport with Night Vision and everything. I normally don't consider 750s but the price is too good to resist! Its black on black. What do you guys think? I will probably test drive on Tuesday.

I bought my 2007 760Li with 135k on the clock. Get it checked out and budget for repairs and maintenance. With those costs in mind, consider if the price is worth it to you.

Miles are miles, I look at it this way, and this theory has been developed over many years of me running my families car lot when I was growing up.. Buy a car with ~75k and you've got some repairs coming up.. 75k-125k are usually the worst, I've seen many different cars have MANY different problems one after another at that range.. the funny thing is, 125k-150k have had many of the issues worked out and believe it or not are usually pretty reliable because of all the work thats been done.. We didn't take too many cars over 150k just because not many came in that were clean enough, so I can't tell you beyond that, but I've seen this theory in action more times than you would believe.

What would be good price? Would you guys recommend this to a first time bmw owner? Thanks! And for you high mileage guy how much have you spent on maintainance?

Do not buy it if anything is wrong and dont buy it if you arent equipped financially for repairs, little more so specifically if you cant DIY

If they are asking 15k don't give them 15k, but I think that price sounds about right.

Kelly said value is still around 22K, so if he gets it at 15K its still a win win

My 07 is a great car to drive but with less than 100k miles it's already had more than $5k worth or warranty work to fix a multitude of oil leaks like the valve covers, alternator oil seal, timing case cover gaskets, transmission guibo, Sat Nav DVD Player, CD changer in dash, Steering Angle Sensor, Parking Brake Switch Assembly, Water Pump, Belt Tensioners, and several other issues as well and now my alternator bearings are growling.
These cars are absolutely beautiful, one of the nicest rides on the road and they drive like a dream; but like many others have posted in the past with more than 50 control units/computers, a Fiber-Optic control Bus, and 200amp electrical system, there is so much that can go wrong with them that most shade tree mechanics are finding them very hard to troubleshoot or fix, so if you don't have deep pockets or a great warranty, you'd better have some pretty good mechanical, electrical, and computer skills if you want to keep them running correctly and this forum gives some great tips and help. Now, if anyone can find one owner (never wrecked) 2007 750's with less than 130k miles on them for under 10K send me a pm and let me know because I'll buy a bunch of them as that's an amazingly unbelievably cheap price in my opinion for such a beautiful car and I'd love to have a few more in my garage. If everything checks out for you go for it. Like many members on here I am running in an 07 as well with 90k on it. I had my vehicle check yesterday at BMW and everything checked out good. I am looking at back breaks in another 10k miles and spark plugs too. The car has run very well. I put about 300 miles a week on my car to and from work mostly interstate driving. The car has runs well so hopefully the car holds up well for you.
Send some pics

Here are the Manheim numbers for 07s. As you can see there aren't too many examples with that kind of mileage. If you have the carfax on the car and it indicates that it has been purchased at auction I can most likely figure out how much the dealer paid for it. I will just need to know when it was purchased and where. ![]()

What does it cost to join Manheim? I would love to search for a few cars to see where things are at these days.

I believe you have to have a dealer license then you can pay to join.
