Everyone,

I went today and put a deposit down on a 2009 750i sport package. I will pick it up this week. I want to thank David (DB750) for going to look at the car for me as it was located in Lexington, KY. David was great! He went out on like a 25 degree day and went over the car with a fine tooth comb and even took pictures for me documenting scratches and anything he saw of concern. He then drove the car for me. AMAZING! He called me after his test drive and told me the good news about the car. I can't say enough how much I appreciate what he did. There are lots of great people on this forum but just wanted to say that David is one of the best! I think I got a great deal. The car has a market value of about $51K. I picked it up for $44K and it only has 16K miles on it. They gave me what I could expect for Private Party sales plus a little on my 2004 745i which ended up being like $13,250. So I got into the new body style with low mileage and full warranty for about $31K. I am very excited and again thank David.

Based on the above, I have many things to sell. Many are still brand new and in the box. Let me know if you are interested and feel free to share.

I'll put the truth out there. Bill never actually asked me to test drive the car, but of course I wanted to be thorough and make sure it could pull hard all the way past 100.

I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge me publicly. I have enjoyed the PM's, texts, and phone calls we have shared over the last week or so. Every time that we have communicated you have expressed your appreciation. Many people nowadays forget the importance of a simple thank you. You are a true CLASS ACT, and I can't tell you how happy I am for you. This car couldn't have asked for a better owner.

Gentlemen,

I would like to share a few words about Bill's new car, but of course I will leave all the details for him to share when he gets it home. This is one of the lowest milage 09's on the market. It is literally brand new. The interior is immaculate. The outside has a few blemishes, but nothing that $100 in PDR and a nice detail won't completly take care of.

I could go on about this car, but I will leave it at this. When I came home after driving it I told my wife that if he didn't buy it that I might! I thought it would be years until I was back in a 7, but I am so impressed with this one that I wil be seriously considering it to replace my M6 within the next 4-6 months.

Congratulations, Bill. I look forward to seeing more pictures of your beast as well as hearing your thoughts after putting a few miles on her.

Thanks everyone. I am super excited! Now I need to start looking for some wheels since the 128's won't fit the F01. If anyone talks to Big Marcus, tell him I need the hook up on the Vossen CV1's.

Picked up my car yesterday. The dealer said he had several calls after I put down my deposit of others wanting to buy it at a higher price. Glad he kept it for me. My trade-in is already pending a sale after only 1 day. Here are some pictures of the car while I was at the car wash yesterday. My boys were out of school here yesterday due to snow so they both went with me and we took along one of their friends who really likes cars. It was a great day out with the boys. I love the car. It is so much quicker than my 745. The wheels have some curbing that I need to fix but other than that, the car is mint.

David, you are an absolute mensch.

What a beautiful car. Those rims are my favorite rims of all that I've seen, OEM or aftermarket, on an "i". Would seriously consider an "i" for my next car.

I don't know why they made the I version let alone why someone would purchase one myself included. Congrats anyway!

Thanks Suri. I may put some Vossen CV1's on it. Also thinking of ditching the runflats for some Continental DWS's. I also saw the Dinan tune which takes it to around 500hp. Probably will just keep it stock for now though as it is too cold here to do anything.

You know I will miss my 128's but these are style 252's and growing on me with the two tone color scheme. Everyone has different taste, which is fine but I have always liked the "i" version better. I has a sportier appearance I think. Thanks.

Thanks. I don't drive with passengers too much so I prefer the shorter wheelbase.

Huh? Your profile says you have an i. Not only that, but a Tahoe as well which is basically the short wheel base of the Suburban.

The CV1's will look awesome Dinan tune would be a must, but I agree with enjoying the car as is for now. I believe BMS also has a tune for the 750. Check out N54tech for more info. Their tunes (like many others) are stronger than Dinans and of course cost a fraction of what Dinan charges.

I think the wheels on the car are awesome. They actually look like custom wheels with the Ferric Grey finish. It would be nice if they were 20's though.

Don't drive one if you don't want to buy it. I am definately considering buying one now that my M6 is out of warranty as of today The car has been quite unreliable and has spent at least three weeks at the dealer since last April. It has been there for the last week for a suspension squeek, windshield washer jet broke, and trunk doesnt raise all the way when opened. It has also had the SMG pump replaced which left me stranded and an alternator replaced which nearly left me stranded hours from home. There have several other minor issues as well.

As Bill said the car is FAST. In normal driving it has more of a tendency to snap your neck than the M6 due to the always there torque. I can't imagine what this beast would feel like with a tune.

The new features are awesome as well. The new idrive is of course great. I love the hard drive and it plays DVDs which is pretty cool. Bills car also has the camera package which has the backup camera as well as cameras mounted on both sides of the front bumper. The black panel display is also very nice. By the time I was done checking out the car it had gotten dark and the way the interior illuminates is breath taking. The quality of the interior materials is fantastic. I believe the leather stitched dash is standard and the leather is like butter. The steering wheel is awesome. Perfect size and has the very soft leather like my M6.

One thing I mentioned to Bill on the phone is how the car really transforms when going from comfort to sport and sport plus. In comfort mode the car is just that; very comfortable. Switch it into sport plus and it becomes a beast. The suspension tightens up and the car pulls very hard. It will hold a lower gear, and when floored will rev all the way to redline.

Overall I am very impressed with the F01. It feels much more sporty than my old 750i. Hopefully brother Bill will post up some interior shots. The interior on that car is super clean.

I absolutely love this car. Believe it or not I was sad to trade the 745 in but happy to get the newer car. My 100 mile drive home made me pretty much lose my sadness. This car is so much faster and tighter. The ability to switch suspension firmness and transmission set points is amazing and really changes the car. I was sitting at a red light and I switched the Sport Plus mode on. Sounds great man! I would love to have a new one, but two things are holding me back.. first I really like owning mine outright and not having a car payment.. already paying rent on my home and my shop.. second, the guys at the dealer were telling me when I was complaining about all the issues on our cars that these new ones are going to be worse, and that BMW is really worried about getting them past 100k.. not sure how much truth is in this, but they were saying the smaller cubic inch motors and the forced induction is really going to be hard..

I will post some pictures of the interior tomorrow. It was cold today so I just sat inside the car today while parked in the garage and messed with the gadgets. The seats were in great shape and looked brand new but I conditioned them also. The camera package is way cool...especially the front side view cameras.

When I got to the dealer yesterday, Tony said aside from having numerous calls on the car and one guy getting nasty about wanting him to sell the car out from under me with a deposit placed on it, he said he already had mine sold. I was really shocked. So maybe I left a little money on the table but he still gave me a great deal on a super clean car so I am happy.
