Dont be afraid to try...

Just wanted to take the time to encourage members to complete as many repairs yourselves. I'm not a mechanic by any means,
and was definitely intimidated with this car because of all it's mysteries and sensitivities to issues.
But I'm pretty proud of myself to say that because of the DIY section of this forum and the expert,
as well as, unselfish contributions by all these members on here I have been able to complete many repairs/upgrades
that I normally would have just took it to the dealer or shop for.
So far I've done the following myself:
- Angel Eye Mtec3 Upgrade
- Replaced brake pads & brake sensors
- Replaced cracked coolant reservoir tank
- Replaced Serpentine/Drive belt
- Replaced Belt Tensioner
- Replaced Idler Pulley
- Changed oil
- Replaced CCV gaskets
- Removed, Cleaned and greased interior blower motor (had chirpy noise)
I know many of you have tackled even more serious repairs/upgrades but my point in this thread is
to keep encouraging others to save money and not to be afraid to TRY.

Nice job. Yes, I learned so much here also and was able to replace my entire coolant system, water pump, alternator, belts, pulleys, radiator, console buttons, power module, integrated supply module, cabin filters, fuel filter, brakes and programming too. This is a great forum and can save you thousands. Plus it feels great to do the work yourself! I can only hope I learn as much on the F01/F02 forum.

The way I see it everyone over there in F01/F02 forum will just take it in to the dealer for repairs without attempting to fix it on their own since most is under factory warranty.

I always think "I am going to go do this all by myself and save money!" Get up to my shop and lift up the hood, stare at the engine cover and slowly put the hood down, as I go inside to call my dealership..

I will acknowledge that there still are some things that I probably WONT attempt, though.
Any major issues like: transmission, "weeping leak" repair, and internal engine component repairs.
