Open trunk of 2002 X5 without battery

Hi guys,

I have a 2002 BMW X5 3.0i. The battery went completely dead, so I went into the process of removing and replacing it. However, it begun to snow, and the car was outside; so I closed the doors and the trunk, and locked the car.

However, I just now realized that I can't open the trunk as I disconnected the battery. Is there a way I can open the trunk, without the battery - I suppose I could fold down the back seats and attempt to fix the battery from the side door... but that's a last resort.

I gotta at least commend you for posting back that you found the answer on your own with the supplied owners manual...so many would have waited hours or days for someone to reply with an answer that was already right at hand...or never report back that they continued to search for an answer after posting...
