E36 Soft Chirps normal? or bad siren?
Hi guys I hope this is the appropriate place to post this, since this involves an E36 part
Recently snatched an E36 siren from the junkyard for my E30 and Im trying to find out if the soft chirping is normal for the siren, i got it for my Viper alarm, basically soft quiet chirps, but when it goes off its really loud. Is that normal behavior or is the siren going bad? Part# 82111469447 heres the link to the video guys, i need to find out if its defective so i can exchange it out for the same one at the junkyard Last edited by Jrey; 01-29-2013 at 07:27 AM. |

If it works when the siren goes off, then I wouldn't worry about it. Perhaps it's a difference within the Viper system vs. the OEM. I'm not sure. The only reason I can see where you'd want it louder for chirps is to find it in a parking lot.
Anyway, get in there with a volt meter and earplugs and check the voltages.
